Work for yourself

From employed driver to independent carrier

Ready-made infrastructure for drivers who want to move off someone else’s payroll and into their own business — without buying a tractor or building a haulage company.

What changes when you work for yourself

What changes is what you control — your schedule, your truck and what you keep after costs.

  • You are no longer an employed driver — you are a carrier

This is no longer employment — it is your own business. You earn from every job, the difference between the freight and your costs stays with you, and how the month turns out depends on you, not on a rate somebody set for you.

  • Pick the truck you want

You work in a new tractor unit from MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo or Ford — you choose the make and the spec yourself. Automatic gearbox, air conditioning, a bunk, cruise control and a modern cab, matched to your route and the way you work rather than to whatever was left in the yard.

  • We handle the paperwork

Contracts, invoices, cost records, fuel and tolls — all of that is on us. You do not have to deal with the paperwork or chase customers for payment. Just get behind the wheel and do what you are best at — drive the truck.

  • You decide when to work

Choose for yourself exactly when you want to work. Take a longer break or a long weekend, whenever you like.

Tractors and rates

What you need to start

Four things. If one of them is missing, say so — it usually works out.

  1. Two years in international haulage

Verifiable experience and positive references from your last job.
  2. Driver card printout

You can get the printout from your driver card on the spot at a Czech POINT desk.
  3. Clean criminal record

You can get the extract from the criminal register on the spot at a Czech POINT desk.
  4. Up-front investment

You need enough funds to cover the deposit, the first month’s rent and the load-securing equipment for the trailers.

Common questions

How much will I earn a month working as a self-employed carrier?

At 12 000 km a month with a MAN 18.520 and a Krone Profi-liner you are left with roughly 4 385 € a month — and that is after fuel, tolls, the admin fee and the rent on the rig. At 10 000 km it is 3 021 €, and at 13 000 km 5 068 €. The figure is before tax and contributions. We prepare a no-obligation estimate on your own routes beforehand.

What does it take to start working for yourself?

From 7 100 € plus load-securing kit. The figure has two parts: the first month's rent, 3 050 € (a Ford F-MAX 500 with a Krone trailer, excluding VAT), and a refundable deposit of 4 050 € (3 000 € for the tractor + 1 050 € for the trailer). You get the deposit back when the cooperation ends — it is only ever used for damage or unpaid obligations. With a different make of tractor the figure changes by the price list. Fuel, tolls and running costs are not paid in advance.

Do I need my own tractor, or a loan?

No — you do not have to buy a tractor or take out a loan. We rent you the tractor and the trailer. If something does not work out, you can return the vehicles at any point after the first month, and rent is counted only for the days you actually drove. And if you do have your own tractor or van, you can bring it and lower your costs.

Who pays for fuel, tolls and fines?

Fuel and tolls are on us: you get a fuel card and a toll box, so you never have to take that money out of your own pocket. The costs are simply deducted at settlement — transparent, no surprises, and nothing for you to fund up front. Traffic fines are your own responsibility as the driver.

What does the rent include, and what do I pay on top?

The rent covers scheduled servicing, the roadworthiness test, routine maintenance, tyres, comprehensive and third-party insurance, and a replacement truck if yours breaks down. None of it is your problem and none of it is billed separately. On top you pay only the admin fee of 550 € a month excluding VAT — no commission on individual loads. The fee also includes a free T-Mobile SIM: unlimited calls and texts, 50 GB of data across the EU and unlimited data in the Czech Republic. You buy your own load-securing kit (straps, corner protectors, load bars, anti-slip mats) and cover your own meals on the road.

When and how do I get paid?

Every payment is by bank transfer to your account. The money arrives within 60 days of you handing over the complete paperwork for the job, so we suggest having a reserve for the first two months. Important: if a customer does not pay their invoice, that is our problem and not yours — it makes no difference to what you earn.

How does the deposit work, and who pays for damage?

You pay the deposit before taking the vehicle over, and it is returned in full once the cooperation ends. It is only ever used for damage or unpaid obligations. You are responsible for the vehicle as its user, but most ordinary damage is covered by the insurance included in the rent.

Do I need a živnost? And what if I do not have one yet?

Yes, you need a živnost — but it does not have to be Czech: what matters is the right to do business and to work legally in Czechia. If you do not have one yet, that is not a problem — we help you arrange everything, it is part of getting started. You do not have to keep the books yourself: either the flat-rate tax, or bookkeeping support from us.

Will there be enough loads? Who finds them?

We find and plan the loads, as a rule a week ahead, so you can see your own workload. Finding customers, negotiating rates and dispatch are all covered by the monthly fee.

What if I fall ill, want time off, or want to stop?

The cooperation is not tied to a long-term contract and can be ended at any time. After the first month you can return the tractor and pay rent only for the days you had it. If you want a longer break, we pause assigning you loads — but a load you have already confirmed has to be completed.

How quickly can I start?

From signing up to your first load is usually around 20 calendar days. The sequence: a no-obligation consultation → an income estimate on your own routes → opening the živnost and signing the contract → paying the deposit and taking over the rig → your first scheduled load.
